Hi, I’m Jaime.

In the Black Creative Co. is (mostly) a one-woman show.

Where I’m from

I graduated from the University of North Texas Communication Design program in 2011 and have 14 years of design experience under my belt. My early career was spent in-house at several software companies, where I honed skills in UI/UX, print and web design, email marketing, and web development.

My leap from in-house to freelance life aligned with the start of my family in 2015—a move that sparked my passion for working with a wide range of brands and industries. Based just outside of Dallas, Texas, I serve businesses across Irving, Argyle, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Highland Village, and beyond. I specialize in crafting branding packages, marketing materials, and websites that communicate clearly, beautifully, and strategically.

Why I do this

I’m a bit of a yin and yang. As a designer who loves the psychology of UI, the logic of front-end coding, and the strategy behind smart marketing campaigns, I live for the blend of beauty and functionality—that’s where the magic happens.

Clear, refined messaging is always my first priority; before a single pixel is placed, we’ll make sure the words work. Because no matter how beautiful the design, without the right message, you’re not moving the pieces—or making the moves that matter.

Who I am

When I’m not wearing my designer hat (i.e. crown), I’m a proud mom to two little girls, a warm lap for my needy black cat, and a partner to my artistically-minded, wood-working, fantastic beard-having husband. With both of us working from home, nothing major goes out into the world without his eyes upon it. He’s an integral part of this venture—so much so that the “we” on this site wouldn’t exist without him. Consider him my trusted advisor and the first focus group for every project.
